AFSCME Council 5 is proud to endorse Stu Lourey for Minnesota State Senate in the special election in Senate District 11, which will take place on Feb. 5, 2019.

AFSCME members talked to the candidates before endorsing Lourey, who earned our support with his clear commitment to fighting for things like quality public schools in every community, accessible and affordable health care, fair and safe workplaces and economic security for working families and retirees.

We are confident that Lourey will be a champion for working Minnesotans as a State Senator. “Stu has the experience working on health care policies for working people in our district. He will be a strong voice for members like me at the State Capitol,” says Jessica Langhorst, a security counselor at the Moose Lake Sex Offender Program, community activist and AFSCME Council 5 Executive Board member.

AFSCME Council 5 is a union of more than 40,000 working Minnesotans. We advocate for excellence in services for the public, dignity in the workplace, and opportunity and prosperity for all workers.
