Tori Thompson

My name is Tori Thompson, and I serve as the Chief Steward on our union board. I work as an Adoption/Guardianship Social Worker in Child and Family Services,  primarily at the WSC, and I’ve been with the county since March 2024.

I’ve been a AFSCME union member for just over seven years, in Dakota County and other metro counties.  During that time, I’ve served as Vice President,  Steward, and Chief Steward. Those experiences that strengthened my commitment to supporting and advocating my coworker while promoting fairness and equity in our workplace.

As Chief Steward, my goal is to help support current members while growing our local Union to be stronger and more effective. I’m excited about encouraging members to advocate for themselves and working together to make our union as strong and effective as possible.
