The following is a message from Kathleen Hochreiter, an employee at the Commerce Department, who was a recipient of the Vacation Donation Program:
State Employees:
Thank you to everyone who donated vacation time, prayers, thoughts, cards, telephone calls and e-mails during my cancer regime, transplant and recovery period.
It meant so much to me and my family to know that people give of their time to this wonderful program. You just do not know how much it means to a person until you are in the position and when you hear how someone else has been blessed by the program.
I am still recovering but back to work part-time for the time being. I have a long way to go but will work with whatever comes my way.
Again, thank you so much for your consideration of donating to this wonderful program. Life is so precious and when you are faced with it possibly taken away from you, it really makes a person think and want more than ever to get through what life gives you and then to find out that things are going to be better, it really makes you think.
God Bless everyone.
